A healthy snack to curb the sugar cravings!

A super quick treat to whizz up and snack on when those sugar cravings hit!
These are a perfect treat as they are naturally sweet and full of protein.
These will take about 10 minutes to make and are so worth it to keep in the fridge for a few days...if you don't eat them all right away!!!
How do we do it?
These are so quick and easy to make and provide a perfect sweet treat. They are a nice healthy snack with no refined sugar plus of course lots of protein.
There are so many things to can add to these bliss balls, I’ll be sharing lots of different recipes for you to try.
Recipe - Makes 8
20 Dates (use around 14 if using Medjool dates)
2 Scoops Chocolate Protein Powder (my favourite is by Arbonne)
1 Tbsp Peanut Butter
Large Handful of Almonds

Method
1. Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor and pulse until well mixed.
2. If the mixture seems too dry, add a very small amount of water until you reach a dough like consistency – you want the mixture to stick together but not be too wet.
3. When you have the desired consistency take a large tablespoon at a time and roll into balls.
4. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
5. Store in the fridge in an air tight container ready for snacking!

Tips
It’s really important you only add a little water to the bliss balls at a time as they can easily become too wet and therefore too sticky to roll! You may not even need it depending on how oily your peanut butter is, that could be enough.
If you do not have protein powder you can try adding 1 Tbsp of cacao powder. You won’t get the protein content but you’ll still get a good taste.
Medjool dates are by far the best but they can be expensive. I have found a great alternative at Tesco in the fruit and veg aisle. They sell a large box of natural dates for around £3.10, the brand is Jordan River. They often have that soft and squidgy medjool date feel, they taste great and are good value.
Ensure you use a good protein powder, I have struggled to find tasty ones that I can either drink alone in a shake or use for baking. After 3 years I’ve finally found the one!! You can pick it up in the Vegan Thingz shop – click here. If you fancy trying it get in touch and let me get you a discount! It is delicious and full of vitamins and minerals.
I get loads of my other ingredients from Buy Wholefoods Online check them out as they have such a range of products at great prices.
