Tasty Simple Tofu

5 ingredients to tasty tofu!

There is so much you can do with tofu, so many flavours to create, you can bake it, fry it, cover it in breadcrumbs... the list is endless!
This is a super simple go to recipe for mid week meals. Chuck your tofu in a delicious rice or noodle dish to add some extra bulk and protein, I like to pair it with quinoa and other grains too.

How do we do it?
Quick, simple and delicious! 1 block of tofu will serve 2-3 people depending on what you are serving it with.
Recipe
1 Block Firm Tofu
1/2 Cup Cornflour
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 Tbsp Soy Sauce/Tamari
Sprinkle Chilli Flakes
1 Tbsp Olive/Coconut Oil

Method
1. Prepare your tofu by draining and pressing to remove all the water. I like to wrap mine in kitchen towel and pop it under a heavy board for 10 minutes.
2. Once pressed, chop into cubes or rectangles. However you like it!
3. Put cornflour and garlic powder in a tub and add in the tofu. Place lid on tub and shake so that the cornflour and garlic covers all the pieces of tofu well.
4. Sprinkle over the soy sauce/tamari and chill flakes and shake up so again all of the tofu gets covered.
5. Heat oil in pan and fry the tofu, turning until each side is golden brown.
6. Serve as a snack or with your favourite rice or noodle dish.

Tips
Ensure your tofu is really well drained and ensure you've picked up firm tofu from the supermarket!
Really give the tofu a good shake in the cornflour as you want it all evenly coated.
The cornflour will also soak up the soy sauce so try to sprinkle it over all the pieces, if you need to use more than the recipe states...go for it!
