Oreos in brownies...what's left to say?!

We all love oreos and we all love brownies, so let's just combine them and have even more delicious love.

These are easy to make, super rich and decadent, plus you can make them look really fancy with decoration before shoving them in your face.

How do we do it?

These are winners all round with family and friends, so what you waiting for...let's go!

I used a 17cm x 28cm oven proof dish for this recipe.

Recipe - makes around 16

  • 3 Ripe Bananas

  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Paste/Extract

  • 220g Vegan Butter

  • 200g Cocoa Powder

  • 2 Tbsp Almond Milk

  • 400g Coconut Sugar

  • 150g Plain Flour

  • Sprinkle Salt

  • 100g Vegan Milk Chocolate Chips/Chunks

  • 1 Packet of Oreos or similar

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180°C and prepare your brownie tin/ oven proof dish by lining it with baking paper.

2. Mash bananas in a bowl and add in vanilla essence/paste.

3. Melt butter on a low heat, stir well until it has completely melted. Add the cocoa powder to the butter and stir constantly until well combined.

4. Next, add your bananas to the mix and stir well. Add sugar and milk and stir well to ensure all ingredients are combined.

5. Add the flour and pinch of salt to the rest of the mixture and stir well. Once everything is combined add in your chocolate chips/chunks. Crush half the packet of Oreos and sprinkle in to the mixture. Stir well to combine.

6. Pour the brownie batter into your prepared tin. use the rest of the Oreos to decorate the top of the batter, pushing them slightly down into the mixture.

7. Place brownies in the over for around 40 minutes.

8. Once the brownies are cooked through, remove from the oven and let cool. Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy!

9. Store in an airtight container. Also suitable for freezing.

Tips

If you don't have coconut sugar you can use brown sugar. You can also use any other plant milk if you don't have almond.

I used vegan milk chocolate chunks but feel free to use dark chocolate.

If you are a big Oreo fan, get yourself two packets so you have plenty to add into the mixture but also for decoration.

I get loads of my ingredients from Buy Wholefoods Online check them out as they have such a range of products at great prices.
